The project seeks to develop key industry standards, security recommendations, and specifications.

Dr. Kees Leune, Adelphi’s Information Security Officer and OWASP member, organized the event, which was attended by IT professionals from multiple universities and businesses across Long Island, as well as individuals who teleconferenced in. Jim Mancino, Vice President of Security at WhiteHat Security Company, presented on important computer programming techniques necessary to build secure web applications. Adelphi University is an Educational Supporter for OWASP and, in addition to the privilege of hosting chapter meetings, receives vital educational materials from the organization.
