Applications are now being accepted for the online M.S. in Sport Management.

Adelphi University is pleased to announce their Master of Science in Sport Management is now offered in a fully online setting. Officially scheduled to start classes in January 2015, the online Master of Science in Sport Management is designed to be completed in as few as two years. Applications are now being accepted.

To maximize student engagement, the program limits the number of students in each class. “Small class size at Adelphi helps us create a stronger relationship with our students,” says Greg Letter, Associate Professor and Director of the Sport Management Program. “Teaching techniques, proper internship placement and the ability to become a mentor for each and every student in our program are all enhanced as a result.

Offered through the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education, the Adelphi sport management degree consists of 12 courses for a total of 36 credit hours. The program allows students to choose one of two distinct specializations – Sport Marketing or Collegiate Athletic Administration – with no required on-campus attendance. To offer online students added scheduling flexibility, the program features a capstone project in place of the internship component that is required of on-campus students.

In its on-campus sport management program, Adelphi University has drawn on relationships with major local sports organizations at both the collegiate and professional levels to provide opportunities for students—a feature that the University aims to carry over to the online version of the sport management master’s degree. “Not many people can say they work or have worked for the New York Yankees or the New York Rangers, two of the most elite sports teams in the nation, but many of our current students and alumni can,” says Professor Letter. “Adelphi offers many experiences that most universities cannot because of our location, relationships, faculty members and great qualities of our students.”

Founded in 1896, Adelphi University was one of the first co-educational colleges chartered by the state of New York. It is the oldest private liberal arts university on Long Island. Adelphi University has been nationally recognized and cited by several well-respected organizations and publications such as The Princeton Review, U.S. News and World Report, Fiske Guide to Colleges and Forbes as a top choice for a quality education.
