2016 Degree Ranking – Teacher.org

Teacher.org has just released its Best Colleges for Master’s in Education rankings, and Adelphi University came in at 13 on the list—out of 352 qualifying schools. Adelphi topped the list among schools in New York and outranked a number of highly competitive colleges. The ranking is based on a number of factors, including relative program size, graduation rates, affordability and online education options.

In the words of Teacher.org, Adelphi’s Ruth S. Ammon School of Education provides “meaningful contributions to educators’ portfolios every year, with a focus on experiential learning and strong emphasis on inclusion.” Teacher.org describes Adelphi professors as “committed to improving teacher practice” and notes that “Adelphi degrees equip veteran teachers with the research and scholarly skills they need to build their practice.”

Jane Ashdown, Ph.D., dean of the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education, commented on the accolade, noting that Adelphi stands apart for its “rich clinical experiences in diverse classroom settings and through strong partnerships with K-12 schools.” She added, “We have faculty with deep content expertise and knowledge of classrooms to really mentor our education students.”
