Department of Theatre students perform the play about three different families coping with a terminally ill loved one written by Michael Cristofer.

As part of their season of Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, the Department of Theatre at Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is pleased to present the Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Shadow Box, written by playwright Michael Cristofer and directed by Dave Groom. This production features the students of the theatre department and will run from Tuesday, April 26 to Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the Black Box Theater located at AUPAC, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.

In this compelling Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winning dramatic triptych, three terminal cancer patients dwell in separate cottages on a hospital’s grounds. The three are attended and visited by family and close friends: Agnes and her mother Felicity, estranged further by the latter’s dementia; Brian and Beverly, whose marital complications are exacerbated by Brian’s new lover, Mark; and Joe and Maggie, unready for the strain of Joe’s impending death and its effect on their teenage son.
