Adelphi’s International Leadership Coordinating Committee and the Department of Political Science host an Ambassador Lecture Series.

Adelphi University is designated as a Non-Governmental Organization of the Department of Public Information of the United Nations. Each year, as part of Adelphi’s commitment to disseminate information and raise public awareness about the purposes and activities of the U.N. and issues of global concern, the International Leadership Coordinating Committee and the Department of Political Science host a university-wide Ambassador Lecture Series. During the 2013-2014 academic year, Adelphi hosted Francis Deng, Permanent Representative of South Sudan to the United States, and Vladimir Drobnjak, Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United States.

Upcoming events include:

September 9, 2014 Ambassador Frankinet (Belgium) will speak about Belgium’s experience in the Great War.
October 8, 2014 Undersecretary General Jan Eliasson will present a lecture entitled “The United Nations in a World of Turmoil.”
November 17, 2014 Ambassador from New Zealand
