Bring it Home: Exercise Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors

Exercise for breast cancer survivors is a free workshop offered on Tuesday, July 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Adelphi University in Garden City. The program is presented by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program in collaboration with the Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center at Sid Jacobson JCC.

Leading the workshop is Bonnie Oringer, who is certified as an exercise specialist, health coach and personal trainer working at the Wellness Center. Ms. Oringer is a breast cancer survivor who embraces the importance and benefit of restorative exercise for cancer patients, survivors and caretakers.

She will teach exercises that can easily be followed at home. Participants should come dressed to exercise.

The class will be held at Adelphi University’s Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Avenue in Garden City. Registration is required. Call 516-877-4325 or email breastcancerhotline@adelphi.edu or register online.

The class will also be live streamed on YouTube at www.youtube.com/AUBreastCancer.

This event is sponsored by a grant from the Junior Coalition of the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer.
