Adelphi's Aphasia Support Group, Mark Cleary VP Supply Chain of Northrup Grumman, Bobby Lanigan playing for Boston Red Sox, Valerie Terzano on Nassau Girl Scout B.O.D.

Adelphi’s Aphasia Support Group was featured in The Garden City News. Aphasia is a disease caused by stroke or neurological disorders that results in impaired communication. The Hy Weinberg Center for Communication Disorders has offered the support program for years at the Garden City campus and this year, Adelphi’s Hauppauge Center began offering aphasia therapy.


Mark Cleary, MBA ’97, was appointed vice president of supply chain management for Northrup Grumman’s electronic systems sector. Cleary previously served as director of business management in Northrop’s land and self-protection systems division. The news was announced on GovConwire.com.


Bobby Lanigan, BS ’12, agreed to a minor-league contract with the Boston Red Sox Thursday and joined the Class AA Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League. Lanigan, who pitched for Adelphi for three seasons, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2008. For the full story, go to silive.com.


New Hyde Park Patch announced the election of Valerie Terzano, BS ’74, MSN ’90, senior vice president of Winthrop University Hospital, to Nassau Girl Scouts Board of Directors. Ms. Terzano’s other professional memberships include the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Professional Women and the Alpha Omega chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing.
