This workshop series supports the Student Government Association's new "Take Care Tuesday" initiative.

The Student Counseling Center presents an Introduction to Meditation Series running every Tuesday from January 24 through May 16, 2017. Sessions will take place in the Interfaith Chapel, University Center Room 306, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and are open to Adelphi students, faculty and staff.

The mediation sessions were offered in fall for four weeks, and will be expanded to every week for Spring 2017 in support of the Student Government Association’s new “Take Care Tuesday” initiative. Jeffrey L. Chilton, Ed.D., will continue to lead the session this semester and welcomes participation in as many sessions as an individual’s schedule permits.

This workshop series and is ideal for anyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of beliefs or background.

Some of the benefits of meditation include:

  • Stress reduction
  • Manage anxiety and mood
  • Brings inner calm and promotes a sense of well-being
  • Gives clarity to solve problems
  • Helps in dealing with challenging situations
