Outstanding First Year Student Award

The Outstanding First Year Student Award, sponsored by the First Year Experience Committee, honors an undergraduate first year student who has demonstrated:

  • Academic excellence
  • Community/Campus involvement
  • Strong leadership

Based on the above criteria, the committee selects several finalists to be interviewed. The winner receives a plaque and a gift certificate to our University bookstore. The winner will also speak at Matriculation Day, which occurs right before the beginning of the following fall semester.
