As we watch our graduates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, we are reminded of the promise of education and its potential to transform lives.

This is the last of a series of short statements about the importance of scholarships and how we at Adelphi make use of them. For the alumni among you, I have a survey linked in the final paragraph.

In just two weeks, Adelphi University will celebrate its 119th Commencement exercises. As we watch our graduates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, we are reminded of the promise of education and its potential to transform lives.

However, we know that many students could not enroll at Adelphi or elsewhere without the financial assistance that is vital for their journey toward graduation. Thanks to the University’s tradition of access and affordability, which requires private support in order to continue, talented and deserving students are able to embark on and complete their educational dreams at Adelphi.

Throughout this past winter and spring, I have sent a series of emails describing the invaluable role that I see scholarships playing at Adelphi. Thank you for taking the time to read these messages. I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts on University priorities with you, and hope the alumni among you will take a few minutes to complete the following confidential and optional survey. We want to learn from your perspectives on student scholarships and financial aid in general and at Adelphi in particular. Your insights will be helpful to my colleagues and me as we plan for future scholarship campaigns.

I know: Scholarships Matter.

Robert A. Scott
President of Adelphi University
