Following a national search, Adelphi has appointed Polly C. Schmitz as executive director of alumni relations. She will be responsible for the strategic development and growth of the University’s alumni relations program designed to engage Adelphi’s more than 90,000 alumni worldwide.

Ms. Schmitz, known for her leading expertise in program development to meet audience needs and proven management and analytical skills, has directed fundraising and alumni relations programs at Whitman College in Washington. She served as assistant vice president for events since February 2013, responsible for the planning, marketing and implementation of strategic campaign-themed and stewardship events. 

As Adelphi’s executive director of alumni relations, she will plan and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement program based on University priorities, including growing the networking, mentoring and internship programs; managing and creating new intellectual, cultural and athletic activities to engage in the life of the University; management of the Alumni Advisory Council, alumni chapters and S.T.A.T. (Students Today Alumni Tomorrow); and building on the strong financial base of the Annual Fund program to ensure that Adelphi remains affordable to all who want to pursue a first-rate education.
