Sheryl Mihopulos, assistant vice president of the Office of Student Financial Services
An expert in the financial aid process and an advocate for promoting access to post secondary education, Mihopulos has had a distinguished career with Adelphi that spans more than 35 years. She is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of the Office of Student Financial Services, which assists the University’s 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students with the financial aid application process, identifying scholarships, grants, loans, as well as provide advice to parents on how to make college affordable. She is a member of three professional organizations, whose focus is on legislative and regulatory advocacy for federal financial aid–New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA), National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and the Eastern Association of Financial Aid Administrators (EASFAA). She served on the Government Relations Committee for the Eastern Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators, which presented a position paper on the Higher Education Reathorization Act. She initiated a letter writing campaign to elected officials to increase funding for higher education and preserve critical programs to help students obtain their college degree. She holds a B.A. in English and M.S. in Education.
