Alumna Carmen Ortiz's role as prosecutor of the Boston Bombing

Carmen M. Ortiz As the country continues to heal from the horror of the bombing in Boston and the matter now moves into the legal system, Adelphi University alumna Carmen Ortiz ’78, ’12 (Hon.) is central to the developing case. 

Ms. Ortiz is the U.S. Attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and shared with the Los Angeles Times, that “the effects of the bombing have been ‘far-reaching, affecting a worldwide community that is looking for peace and justice.’ She added, ‘the government will always seek to elicit all the actionable intelligence and information we can from terrorist suspects taken into our custody.’”  

Ms. Ortiz was the Adelphi University 2012 Commencement Speaker.  

Along with the country, your alma mater is watching with keen interest.
