From the Dean’s Desk

News, General News

University College students, alumni and Adelphi community members:

Shawn O'Riley, Dean of University College at AdelphiWelcome to our new digital newsletter. We hope this new format will help you stay in touch with all that is going on at University College. Each issue will provide information on UC programs, events, faculty, students and alumni. The issues will feature Web links to news stories and profiles of our community members, photos, videos and other ways to help you connect to UC.

University College continues to expand and evolve. Within the last year we’ve added our second master’s degree program (M.S. in Health Informatics), created the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development and continued the growth of our summer pre-college initiatives. The future will include many programs and initiatives that assist adults and non-traditional students in meeting their education, work and life goals. This new newsletter format will be a primary method of sharing that information with you.

Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Adult Baccalaureate Learning Experience (ABLE) program in University College. Throughout the year, we will be spotlighting ABLE alums and their successes. We will also be focusing on the amazing UC students who are currently studying with us. I hope you will continue to stay involved with University College and informed of our current and future activities through this newsletter and the many UC events and activities.

Best regards and thank you for being a part of University College.
