Green Initiatives Around Campus

News

The Green Community hosted the ABC (Anything But Clothes) Fashion Show on March 29. Fashion materials included recycled newspaper, cereal boxes, bags and cardboard. First place in the friendly competition went to designer Meghan Cerrone ’15 and model Julianna Claase ’15.

Adelphi has installed 14 bottle filling stations across the Garden City campus (and one at its Manhattan Center) to encourage students and faculty to use refillable bottles or containers. Adelphi’s new bottle filling stations have already prevented approximately 250,000 bottles from such a fate, simultaneously saving users at least $500,000.

On April 20, Adelphi students will volunteer at the 4th annual Seatuck Environmental Association Eco-Carnival in Islip, New York. Volunteers will help with check-in, parking direction, nature trails and more. Past events have been attended by more than 2,500 people.
