News, Announcement

IT-Student-Worker-of-the-Month-CertificateThe staff of the Office of Information Technology would like to congratulate

Alexandria (Alex) Cisco

Student Worker of the Month for October 2014

Alex has been working in the Office of Information Technology since Spring 2014 as an IT Clerical Assistant. She is a Computer and Management Information Systems major who enjoys dance, travel, and learning programming languages.

Here are some of the comments we received from IT staff members and other student workers who nominated Alex:

“Alex has been with us for about 5 months and in that time she has caught on very quickly to our Policies and Procedures. Alex is always willing to help teach our new students and has been a huge help in freeing up my time so I can focus on some of the day to day activities in IT Procurement. Alex has recently taken on a project for building a vendor database in Access and has already shown significant progress with this task. It’s a pleasure to have such a diligent student working at our side.”

“Alex has brought  a lot to the table with her academic background in Computer Science. Not only has Alex become a true asset to the CIO team, she has also become a mentor to some of IT’s incoming freshman. She has taken the initiative to redesign the CIO Google site and has begun developing a vendor database for Procurement. Although Alex has only been with the department for a few months, I am sure we can expect great things from her.”

“Alex is always willing to help others and is a great role model for our other student workers.I am always impressed with Alex’s customer service and technical skills She’s is dependable and reliable and an asset to our IT Team!”
