Matthew Reed: Computer Science major and Lab Consultant.

IT-Student-Worker-of-the-Month-CertificateThe staff of the Office of Information Technology would like to congratulate

Matthew Reed

Student Worker of the Month for February 2015

Matt has been working in the Office of Information Technology since 2013 as a Lab Consultant. He is a senior Computer Science major, and enjoys solving tech problems.

Here are some of the comments we received from IT staff members and other student workers who nominated him:

“Matt is an expert with Bomgar and was great enough to share his knowledge while working here as a student tech. He provided a comprehensive training with the use of Bomgar like remote file transfer and malware removal. He was very active in remotely cleaning up malware via the Bomgar console while he is working as a student NetTech and always gets the job done.”

“Matt gives his all when he works at tech, and isn’t afraid to ask questions, if he feels unsure as to the direction. He is quick to do whatever is asked, and you can be sure that the job will be done correct. He is a wizard with Bomgar, and has been known to do virus cleanups from the Help Desk, and from the NetTech area. I once experienced Matt cleaning 10 machines, from the comfort of the tech office, just by the use of remote tools through Bomgar. And this doesn’t stop Matt, he is then off to the next job. Whatever job Matt does, I believe he will succeed.”

“Matthew Reed has improved leaps and bounds in recent months. He shows initiative and problem solving skills and is not afraid to make recommendations toward solution. I started to give him more freedom to work on his own and the outcomes were satisfactory. One area worth mentioning is that he utilizes Bomgar heavily when he gets support call at the desk. He is able to remotely solve the problem most of the time.
