Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at NYU Langone Medical Center

Kimberly S. Glassman, PhD, RN, NEA-BC joined the Medical Center in 1978 as a senior staff nurse in critical care, and has held many leadership positions in nursing over her career at the medical center. She has conducted research on the patient experience, and written chapters for textbooks and peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Glassman is a reviewer for several journals, including Applied Nursing Research, Nursing Economics and Qualitative Health Research. She received her RN diploma from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, and her BSN from Hunter College. She holds a masters degree in nursing administration and a doctorate in theory and research development from the NYU College of Nursing.

Dr. Glassman is a 2008 graduate of the Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives at the University of Pennsylvania, and a 2011 Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellow. Dr. Glassman has overseen emergency management at NYU Hospitals Center since 2008, and serves in the role of Planning Chief in the hospital’s incident command system.
