Yashika Sharma is a worker with the Help Desk at Adelphi.
The staff of the Office of Information Technology would like to congratulate Yashika Sharma as the June 2018 IT Student Worker of the Month.
Sharna is a graduate student majoring in management in the Class of 2019 who works with the Help Desk.
Here are some of the comments we received from IT staff members and other student workers who nominated her:
“I am nominating Yashika for the month of June 2018 for her dedication to training new student workers at the start of summer semester. Yashika is currently a Help Desk Assistant. When t
he Spring 2018 semester ended, many of the experienced Help Desk student workers got full-time jobs or internships and there were a lot of open shifts that we needed to fill. Yashika stepped up to make sure we had the necessary coverage and while at the Help Desk assisted in coaching and training the new students that were just starting out answering the Help Desk phones.”
“She is a dedicated student and engaged employee. As a graduate student she brings also a higher maturity level to the Help Desk student staff. Not only does she work at the IT Help Desk but also with the Systems Administrators. She is always seeking new challenges and asking question to gain as much experience and knowledge as she can while employed as a Help Desk Assistant.”
“Yashika is very fastidious in her duties. She assists the sysadmins with prioritizing and updating our work orders. She also has been giving lead in updating our documentation and to follow up on outdated articles in confluence. She is hungry to learn new technology. She will assist the networking team with configuration and deployment of our new network equipment on the edge. She has a terrific demeanor and is liked by all of her coworkers.”
About IT’s Employee of the Month Nominations
It is important to demonstrate our appreciation for the contributions of our student workers to their teams, to the Office of Information Technology, and to Adelphi University as a whole. At the end of each month, we will honor one student worker who has demonstrated commitment, leadership, and initiative in their position. The recipient will be presented with a certificate and gift, as well as a featured spot on our IT website.
All IT employees (including student workers) are encouraged to submit nominations for their choice for Student Worker of the Month. Your nominee should display qualities deserving of recognition.
