Student accepted into prestigious summer research program

News

When Adelphi sophomore Jennefer Maldonado was in high school, she was constantly advised against majoring in math or computer science in college. Determined to prove the naysayers wrong, she’s now a star in Adelphi’s math and computer science program.

Now, Maldonado has just been accepted into the National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates program and will spend the summer at the University of Maryland. She is also dedicated to bringing more women into her field, promoting it within the department and in high-needs local schools.
