The Shining Opera Streaming Now!

When The Shining opera first opened in Spring 2016, it received immediate praise for news sources like The Wall Street Journal, The Economist and Opera News.

The opera was composed by Paul Moravec, University Professor at Adelphi University, who adapted the opera very faithfully from Stephen King’s original book, rather than Stanley Kubrick’s famous film.

From now until November 30, 2016,  an audio recording of The Shining, performed by the Minnesota Opera, is free to listen to on the Minnesota Public Radio‘s website. MPR also includes a scene-by-scene breakdown of the performance, complete with still shots to help set the scene the listeners’ minds.
