Dear Adelphi Community,

In response to feedback from our community, the lunch menu at the tent in The Quad will feature new options and more vegetables this week. As always, there is a vegan option available daily Monday through Friday and gluten free buns and bread are available. Lunch in the tent is free for students all week (Monday through Friday) and free for faculty and staff on Friday. This week’s free lunch menu is:

Monday: Labor Day, closed

Tuesday: chicken stir-fry, tofu fajita (V), white rice and red apples

Wednesday: pulled-pork sandwich, setain (V) sandwich, roasted corn and yellow apples

Thursday: chicken Marsala, tofu Marsala (V), roasted broccoli and watermelon

Friday: burgers, vegan burgers (V), chips, ice cream

V= vegan

For additional dining options, please feel free to visit Post Hall for all you care to eat or generous to go meals featuring halal chicken and other fresh ingredients, PACafé for deli sandwiches and salads, PAWS Café and Paws Express in the Nexus Building for grab-and-go options including kosher food, the Legends Juice Bar and #Cheeseplease in the Center for Recreation and Sports (CRS), and Outtakes Express in the lobby of the Science Building—all of which will accept Adelphi meal cards.

The food trucks, which are a popular option for many students faculty and staff, include the Adelphi Food Truck, which offers a bagel breakfast in the morning and Poke Bowls for lunch and accepts meal cards; cash options at the Halal Truck, Mama’s Cuban Kitchen and STUF’D Sandwiches, all located between the Nexus Building and Swirbul Library; and a Greek food truck and The Big Cheese mac-and-cheese truck in front of the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (Adelphi PAC).

You can find a full list and map of all our on-campus dining locations online—and look for gold banners around campus to see where you can get a meal or snack.

In addition, Adelphi community members are eligible for discounts at many nearby establishments. You can see a list of local discounts online and on the AU2GO app. Adelphi offers shuttle bus services to points off campus.

Food deliveries from services such as GrubHub, Uber Eats and Door Dash may also be useful for community members who don’t wish to leave campus for meals. Most local delivery drivers know our campus and its buildings.

Adelphi University is sensitive to the needs of our diverse community, and we are working hard to minimize disruption, provide options and reduce the impact of the UC renovation project. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email the UC Progress Team at ucprogress@adelphi.edu.

Sincerely,

The UC Progress Team
