On Broadway, curtain rises on most diverse season in years

Associate Professor Margaret Lally comments on the diversity in Broadway’s current theater season. Some of the shows mentioned are: Hamilton, the rap and hip-hop musical that retells the story of the American Revolution featuring mostly black and Latino actors; Allegiance, George Takei’s musical based on the famous “Star Trek” actor’s experiences as a child in the Japanese internment camps during World War II; and On Your Feet!, a musical about the immigrant journeys of pop music power couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline has joined the online crowd and is now offering an online chat feature on its website from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays from either trained social workers or volunteers standing by to answer questions and provide support.
